More than 8 in 10 UK Businesses to Recruit More Permanent Staff

More than 8 in 10 UK businesses plan to hire more permanent staff, despite growing concerns around UK economic conditions, according to the latest JobsOutlook survey by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC).

The February 2016 survey of more than 600 employers found 82% of businesses plan to recruit more permanent staff in the next quarter. But 17% say they feel economic conditions have worsened – almost double the percentage back in September (9%).

The data also reveals 95% of businesses say they are operating close to full capacity, while 90% report needing temporary workers to provide ‘key strategic skills’, and 58% to ‘respond to growth’.
